One of our regular clients Essilor who make the leading branded spectacles had a major product launch in the spring. We made a launch film where some of the most respected optical experts on the world talked about their experience and opinions with the new product.
We shot them each in a formal interview environment and then in the real world using the product to enjoy what they do. It was a powerful message to see and hear how improved vision made life easier and let them do what they love. It was great to have the creative freedom to show each person in a format that we felt best reflected their personality and passions.
This year we have begun shooting 4k raw into an external recorder and the improvements in quality are noticeable – images are sharper and richer with an extras depth of colour. There is a penalty in that the amount of data generated is a factor of 8 larger than before, but we can do more in the grade (colour correction) and filming multiple camera interviews is simpler and easier to match. It just looks… better
Reports are that the product has sold really well.
