Short film about the most successful school rowing club in the United Kingdom.
It was an early start to reach Oxford just after dawn on a crisp winter day. I am not an especially big fan of sport and don’t have much experience of messing about on boats – but this was a wonderful shoot with great light.
We used 5Ds to shoot, due to their compact size and relative resistance to water! It was much easier to hop in and out of the various boats and skiffs with small gear, all of which were more girl sized than man sized. We also added GoPro cameras for different perspectives.
I was really impressed with the professionalism that the school applied to what had started out as a rowing club but gone on to become an Olympic medal factory.
